To date, 2016 has been the best year we’ve had for dark fiction in a long time, having seen some outstanding work from Joe Hill, Stephen Graham Jones, Nicole Cushing and a whole collection of others. It would take me all day to list them all and I’d still miss some. And that trend in top notch, groundbreaking fiction is showing no signs of losing momentum any time soon, as we see work on the horizon from greats like John Langan (The Fisherman – June 29), Nick Mamatas (I Am Providence – August 2), and this one I’m talking about right here, Disappearance at Devil’s Rock, the mind-blowing new novel by Paul Tremblay (June 21). I loved this book so much it’s difficult to express, but I gave it my best effort over at This Is Horror. Go check that out and then do yourself a favor and pre-order the thing.
